Four children's centres lose funding in Haringey

1 min read Early Years
Haringey Council is to withdraw funding for four of the borough's children's centres and cut staff and services at the remaining 18.

The council said it has "no option" but to scale back its children’s centre services due to a reduction in central government funding.

It is looking to cut its overall budget for the year by £41m and make further cuts of £43m over the next two years.

The centres that will lose their funding are those at Highgate, Rokesly and Northbank as well as a linked site at Tower Gardens.

The remaining centres will focus on the most vulnerable families and have been reorganised into four clusters to reduce the number of managers. The council said the move follows a consultation with local families.
