Families say Job Centres are least helpful service

1 min read Early Years
Job Centres provide the least family friendly services according to a survey of parents conducted by charity 4Children's Family Commission.

The Family Commission, a national inquiry into family life, published its interim findings today, including figures obtained through a YouGov poll.

When given a choice of public services, only three per cent of respondents said job centres are "family friendly", compared to 45 per cent for schools and 40 per cent for GP surgeries.

When asked how they would make services more family friendly 65 per cent of parents called for an extension of opening hours on evenings and weekends, while 51 per cent said services need to be more accessible.

In addition, 81 per cent said they did not think that politicians understood the reality of family life.
