The impact of integrated services on children and their families in Sure Start children's centres, published today, surveyed 20 children's centres in six local authorities within the 30 per cent most deprived areas in the country.
It found that more than half of the centres are providing effective integration of services, while leadership and management were rated good or outstanding in three quarters of the centres.
More than half of centres also rated good or outstanding for learning and development of children and parents. Some schools reported that centres are helping children's attitude to learning and social development as they move into primary school.
