The homes in Eastbourne, Hailsham, Pevensey and Hastings are run byAnderida Adolescent Care, which looks after young people aged 11 to 18who come from difficult backgrounds, and helps them develop in a safeplace.
Now the homes have gone green to help set a positive example to theirresidents.
The homes aim to reduce their carbon footprints and save money throughinstalling energy-saving light bulbs, changing to a 100 per centrenewable energy supplier, using environmentally-friendly cleaningproducts and using reusable bags for shopping.
They have also started recycling glass, paper and green waste, fittedcompost bins in their gardens and put water saving Hippo Bags in theirtoilet cisterns. Staff also buy Fairtrade products, including tea andcoffee.
