Following a consultation, homes in these arrangements have been handed a new fee structure that is “more reflective of the work that Ofsted will need to undertake in regulating and inspecting this type of provision”, says the DfE.

This will see annual fees for multi-building children’s homes of up to three places set at £4,254, with £283 for each additional place.

However, fees around registration for multi-building children’s homes will remain the same as a large children’s home with four or more places, the DfE has confirmed.

Both large children’s homes and multi-building homes will pay a provider registration fee of £2,911, manager registration fee of £910 and a minor variation fee of £176.
