
Children and young people in the county “wait too long” to be assessed and access support, including speech and language services.
Help is furthered hampered by “gaps in service provision” in the area, including for occupational therapy and specialist equipment, said a joint inspection team from Ofsted and health inspectorate the Care Quality Commission.
“This results in ongoing frustration for children, young people and families,” warned inspectors in their report into support provided and commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board, which took over health commissioning last year from the area’s local clinical commissioning groups.
