
Up to five council partnerships in England and Wales are to be handed £500,000 to provide community-based support to children and their families in venues such as schools, family hubs and health settings.
These partnerships must be local authority led and include a raft of agencies, across mental health, police, schools, social care and the charity sector.
“These teams will work in close partnership with children, young people, parents and carers in their locality to design, deliver and review services that are built around their needs, said the YEF.
The Care Review, authored by Frontline social care founder Josh MacAlister, had raised concerns over the “sharp increase in child alcohol and drug misuse, child sexual exploitation, trafficking, gangs, missing children, socially unacceptable behaviour and self-harm” among teenagers.
