Labour urges government to reinstate rights for children before judicial review

Ministers must reinstate local authorities’ statutory duties to vulnerable children ahead of a judicial review against the Department for Education next month, shadow early years minister Tulip Siddiq had said.

The comments come after children’s rights charity Article 39 was given the green light to go ahead with legal action against the government on Friday over the removal and relaxation of safeguards and protection for children.
