More delays for free school meal vouchers
The Department for Education has confirmed it was forced to take down the website supporting its free school meals voucher scheme last week after it crashed due to high demand.
The website, run by provider Edenred, was rebuilt on Thursday to boost capacity after schools reported issues accessing the site. The issues meant that some orders made prior to this were not processed until yesterday, the DfE said.
A statement added: “We know that the free school meal voucher system is delivering for thousands of schools.
"We continue to work closely with our supplier Edenred to resolve any outstanding issues quickly."
