The cuts have been revealed in a document on the review of spending that will be discussed by cabinet members next week on the same day as the government's comprehensive spending review (20 October).
Barnet's children's services spending will be cut by £3.8m during the 2011/12 financial year, by just under £1.2m the following year and by £4.5m in 2013/14.
Under the plans, youth services will see cuts of £3.25m over the next three years and children's centres and early years will have £285,000 shaved off their budget next year, partly through job cuts.
Children's services is the authority’s second-worst hit department as the council looks to cope with a reduction in central government funding. The adult social services budget is the hardest hit and will experience cuts of £18m during the same period.
