Child poverty charter unveiled in Wales

1 min read Social Care
A coalition of children's organisations in Wales has published its proposals for the next government to tackle child poverty.

The End Child Poverty Network Cymru's 5 Point Charter outlines five areas that the upcoming government needs to address in order to end child poverty.

Recommendations include creating a more progressive tax system, providing fuel and energy concessions to low-income families and promoting an end to the gender pay gap.

Children in Wales policy director and End Child Poverty Network Cymru director Sean O'Neill said: "We are urging all Welsh prospective Members of Parliament to endorse this charter and for the successful party on 6 May to take forward the key actions as part of the long term quest to eradicate child poverty once and for all."
