To mark the 50th anniversary of the National Day of Oman, English-born Natalie Taylor, a member of the British Royal Army Medical Corps, and Oman-born Anisa al Raisi will begin their 1,200km trek which will include climbing, walking and kayaking.

The pair are hoping to inspire young people to “get outside and explore”.

Girlguides ambassador Natalie has developed a set of online challenges for school children in the UK, inspired by the trek and designed to do at home.

The YallaGo ‘At Home’ Challenge pack will be available to download from the trek website, when it starts on 18 November.
