Bolton creates information-sharing forum for youth service providers

Youth Work
Youth organisations in Bolton are being encouraged to come together as part of a new forum to strengthen the role of the voluntary sector in delivering youth services in the area.

The Children and Young People's Third Sector Strategic Forum was established this week by Bolton Council, in partnership with Bolton Council of Mosques and Bolton and Bury Education Business Partnership. It is open to all charities providing services for children and young people, from small local organisations to national charities with a presence in the city.

The council intends to use the forum as a means of sharing information across service providers, and raising standards while helping participating organisations to make services more cost-effective.

"I hope that more local organisations can share good practice and make the most of this opportunity, and urge them to get in touch and find out about becoming a member," said Ebrahim Adia, executive member for children's services at Bolton Council.
