
The service’s budget is set to be cut by a third putting 36 jobs at risk as the council looks to save £212m this year to cope with reductions in central government grants.
As part of this latest day of action organised by the union Unison protests will take place outside all three Connexions centres in the city.
Unison will also stage a rally outside council offices in Victoria Square.
Tony Rabaiotti, Unison’s head of local government for the West Midlands area, said: "Now is not the time to cut vital support for young people, with rising youth unemployment, tuition fees and course cuts. Without Connexions advice we will be left with a lost generation struggling for a fair chance at a future.
