Artwork to feature 'tidal wave' of young people

Thousands of young people are set to mob a rural Lincolnshire town as part of a new artwork this month.

The young people, from local schools, will wear fluorescent jackets as they move through Sleaford town centre. Artist Kelly Large, who will film the event from above, hopes the footage will look like a "volcanic lava flow or tidal wave of adolescents".

The artwork, Our Name is Legion, aims to highlight issues including the relationship between generations, and will take place on an undisclosed date in late April. The police and other authorities have been informed.

Kelly Large, artist in residence at Kesteven and Sleaford High School, said the initial idea came about when she observed the routine journeys and daily fluctuation in the volume of people moving through the town.
