Adoption agencies launch push to find homes for sibling groups

A national campaign has been launched to find people willing to consider adopting groups of brothers and sisters.

Latest statistics published by the Adoption Leadership Board show that there were 2,030 children awaiting adoption in the second quarter of 2020/2021 - the period covering July, August and September 2020, of which 890 (44 per cent) were siblings.

Adoption charity Parents And Children Together (PACT) which recruits adoptive families from across London and the south east is joining with adoption agencies to highlight the need to secure for families for siblings waiting to be adopted, pointing out that groups of two or more children take on average 36 per cent longer (135 days more) to be adopted than individual children.
