'Adolescence' released for streaming in secondary schools

Moves to make the hit Netflix series ‘Adolescence’ freely available to secondary school pupils have been backed by a charity specialising in healthy relationships.

Schools and parents will be able to access resources created by Tender, helping them to navigate conversations around the show’s challenging content.

Adolescence tells the story of how a family's world is turned upside down when a 13-year-old pupil is arrested for the murder of a teenage girl who goes to his school.

Since launching earlier this month, it has inspired a national discussion on misogyny and toxic masculinity.

The release coincides with a roundtable meeting between charities and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who encouraged “as many pupils as possible” to watch and talk about the issues raised, after viewing with his own teenage children.
