Action

Norfolk County Council has partnered with technological solutions provider, Cornerstone VR, to give social workers, foster carers and adopters an immersive, virtual reality experience where they witness trauma, abuse and neglect first-hand through the eyes of the child.

Some 73 social work practitioners across fostering and adoption teams in the county have received a one-day virtual reality training course from Cornerstone VR, part of The Antser Group, to help them gain a deeper insight into the long-term impact of adverse childhood trauma. The VR headsets, which are on loan from Cornerstone VR, have also been incorporated into all foster carer and adoption journeys to help with placement breakdown and to support new foster carers.
