
In the opening sentence of the introduction, author Lynn Davis states that "social workers rarely seem to regard the law with enthusiasm" and goes on to use words like "intimidating", "difficult" and "obstacle" in relation to their perceptions of the law. My last encounter with a law book saw me reading some 600 pages of extremely dry and not always intelligible information, which I think is part of the problem.
So, I am pleased to say that none of these attributes apply to The Social Worker's Guide to Children and Families Law, which is very well written and put together. The information is easily accessible, both by being understandable and broken down into digestible chunks.
