Healthy Lives, Brighter Futures: What's still to come?

2 mins read Health
The child health strategy, Healthy Lives, Brighter Futures, mentions numerous reviews, programmes, guidance and pieces of research that have yet to be published. Unless otherwise stated, there is still no timetable for when these will actually be released.

* The government will commission a review to "assess the commissioning and delivery of the Healthy Child Programme". An "e-learning programme" will also be developed to ensure frontline health professionals have the skills and knowledge to deliver the Healthy Child Programme

* The current review of outreach workers in Sure Start children's centres will be used to consider what further support can be given to fathers, particularly from the most vulnerable groups

* A new Antenatal Education and Preparation for Parenthood Programme will be developed. The government will pilot new methods of engaging parents in the Healthy Child Programme - particularly fathers - and produce guidance on children's two- to two-and-a-half-year review in the Healthy Child Programme
