Since 1980, BBC Children in Need has raised more than £1bn for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. Its flagship event is the BBC TV and radio appeal every November, although it fundraises and generates income with corporate partners throughout the year.
Last month, it launched A Million and Me, a three-year £10m programme to fund early intervention projects that tackle children and young people's mental health problems. The initiative is the brainchild of chief executive Simon Antrobus, who joined the organisation from substance misuse charity Addaction in August 2016.
