Geraldine Roseberry, a foster carer from Redbridge, London, spoke to CYP Now about the benefits of foster caring, saying that the most rewarding part was “seeing the character of each child”.

She has fostered more than 100 children and regularly runs into her former foster children in the area where she lives. “When I see them in town, it’s like seeing a long-lost friend,” she said.

The foster carer has urged those considering fostering to contact their local authority to find out what support is on offer for carers, adding that potential foster parents should be made aware of the amount of training and support available to them from councils and other foster carers.
