This led me to speculate about the nature of the research itself; was it, for example, a double-blind trial? And how were the mothers persuaded to carry on breast-feeding so long? But the research provides a straightforward strategy for primary schools wanting to improve their position on the Key Stage 2 assessments, although the question is then open as to what happens in secondary school … perhaps this is a social intervention too far!
