After the Tories managed to claim that more than half of teenage girls in deprived areas got pregnant earlier this week (its actually 5.4 per cent, not 54 per cent) they were rightly mocked as being out of touch. I particularly liked the quote from Lib Dem chief of staff, Danny Alexander, who said: "The Tories seem to think that half our teenagers are pregnant, our cities are like The Wire and that people will get married for a few extra quid. If they really believe Britain is like this, it's remarkable that Conservative MPs can pluck up the courage to leave their houses".
