Reaching out to Dads

1 min read

My husband was invited into our toddler's nursery last week to "demonstrate ICT to the children" - it was a Father's Day initiative. He said he wasn't really sure what to do, but in the end he made a slideshow of some pictures he'd taken - bus, apples, boats etc - and showed that to the children, who seemed to like it. The sticky hand-prints all over the laptop say they did, anyway.

This is the kind of thing that children's centres and nurseries everywhere should be, and many are, doing but there are a few issues with it. Firstly, in our case, they don't really need to reach out to MediaDad - he's the one who takes MediaChild to nursery and picks him up anyway, and looks after him two days a week so I can maintain this fine website. If he didn't, then he probably wouldn't have been able to go in and do the demo, although I suppose he could have taken time off. Secondly as far as I am aware there was only MediaDad and one other Dad who took part, who also picks his daughter up regularly.
