
This was a key question from a young person we spoke to in our early days of setting up the Centre for Youth Voice and sums up the challenge of how to access information and insight on youth voice.
Listening to young people is a legal duty, enshrined in Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Over time, we are seeing a greater commitment to youth voice across the sector and are learning more about what is effective in engaging young people and the impact of youth voice on outcomes. However much of the research and evaluation relating to this issue is generated within the academic space and not readily accessible to practitioners or young people.
