
The creation of a “child-focused support and challenge” culture across all aspects of children's services has been a key factor in Bracknell Forest Council receiving an overall “outstanding” rating from Ofsted.
Following a visit to the Berkshire authority in June, the inspectorate awarded the department its highest judgment for leadership and the experiences and progress of children who need help and protection, while the experiences and progress of children in care and care leavers was rated as “good”.
The development of this “healthy” challenge and support culture “holds everyone to account for children's experiences and progress”, states the Ofsted report. It praises senior leaders, led by executive director of people Grainne Siggins, for creating a “strong corporate and whole-council approach” to supporting children.
