Lessons from Serious Case Reviews: Perinatal healthcare teams

The NSPCC has analysed evidence from serious case reviews to identify learning. In this issue, we look at a summary of risk factors and learning for improved practice for the health sector.

Health professionals involved in perinatal care, such as GPs, midwives, health visitors, paediatricians and obstetricians are best placed to identify families who need early help to prevent situations deteriorating to the extent that the baby or young child is at significant risk of abuse or neglect.

This briefing summarises the learning from case review reports published between 2011 and August 2015.
