Project: Grit Breakthrough Programmes for children’s services staff

Purpose: To help children’s social workers and others improve the way they engage with young people and work as a team

Funding: A pilot was funded by a grant of £90,000 from The Porticus Foundation plus contributions from three participating local authorities. The training programme is designed to be commissioned by councils

Background: Charity Grit – formerly known as Youth At Risk – uses performance coaching methods to work with young people and adults and help them achieve their goals.

In 2020, the charity gained funding to develop a training programme specifically for children’s services staff, which was trialled at three councils.
