Anti-Social Behaviour: Met creates capital 'dispersal area'

Unaccompanied children can be removed from the country's entertainment heartland after 9pm under new plans from the Metropolitan Police.

It has invoked powers in the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003 to create a "dispersal area" in central London as it looks to crack down on criminal behaviour.

The programme will run until 1 January 2005 - with a review after its first month of operation - in an area that includes Regent Street, Oxford Street, Charing Cross Road and Trafalgar Square.
