The government has unveiled details of its rapid review of youth policy and funding and called for youth organisations and young people to give their views.

The review, first announced by the Treasury at last December’s one-year spending review, is set to shape the direction of policy for the out-of-school agenda until 2025, with a focus on programmes currently in the scope of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). It will also determine the future of major funding streams for the sector including the £500m Youth Investment Fund (YIF), promised in the Conservative Party’s 2019 general election manifesto for boosting the infrastructure of open access youth provision.
