Youth work evidence initiative set to launch

The initiative, which is intended to support the youth sector through increased insight, practice sharing and peer support, will see a new post created across both organisations - head of research and learning - to create a consistent approach to evidence.

Bethia McNeil, director of The Centre for Youth Impact, said the initiative is a major opportunity to take a collective and intentional approach to understanding and improving impact.

"The breadth of Ambition's membership means that we can work together to identify and progress cross-sector thinking and practice, and share it more widely. This will complement the centre's existing networks, which continue to grow stronger.

Matthew Hill, who previously worked at the Institute of Volunteering Research at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, has been appointed to the post of head of research and learning.

Emma Revie, chief executive of Ambition, said: "I believe together we can support our members to build a shared evidence base that demonstrates our collective impact, and a common language to describe the value of our work with young people.

"Our members are passionate about learning and continuous quality improvement and we are very excited that by Matt joining our team and by working in partnership with the Centre for Youth Impact, we can provide additional resource to our members in these areas.

"My hope is that, as we share the findings of our collective work, we will also benefit the wider youth sector."
