Trafford YOT first to get Charter Mark

Trafford Youth Offending Team has become the first youth offending service in the country to be awarded Charter Mark status.
Developed by the Cabinet Office, the Charter Mark serves as official recognition of public sector organisations that provide excellent customer service.
In addition to achieving the standard, the team has also been singled out for five best practice awards during its inspection. These are for: passion and enthusiasm of frontline staff; flexible intervention; creative use of resources to promote the service; commitment from partners and partnership working; and the encouragement of comments on service development from young people and families.
Conservative councillor John Holden, Trafford's lead member for children and young people's services, said: "It is evident from the inspection that the team is made up of a number of individuals who care a lot about improving the lives of young people and helping them to find their way again in life."
