US pop trio Jonas Brothers were virtually unknown in the UK until last month when British comedian Russell Brand took a swipe at their clean-living image at the MTV Video Awards in LA.

But the brothers are huge in the US and now look set to conquer the UK after Brand's lewd comments about their decision to abstain from sex until marriage propelled the band into the international spotlight. The three brothers are the sons of a former pastor and don't smoke, drink or swear. As evangelical Christians, they also wear promise rings that symbolise their intention not to have sex before marriage. Their style of pop rock is reminiscent of groups such as McFly, so expect them to attract hordes of screaming teenage girls.

Have you ever been called "sick" by a teenager and couldn't understand why? Or heard a young person accusing another of being "rare"? These are two of the terms that have made it into the new online slang dictionary www.gotateenager.org.uk.

The dictionary has been developed by Parentline Plus to help parents and those who work with young people to keep up with the latest youth-speak. So far, there are more than 100 entries, including "sick" (cool), "rare" (ugly girl) and "shanked" (stabbing). So "G" (a person with whom you can identify), what are you waiting for?
