My school for a day

I would swap the roles of teacher and student. Pupils could see and understand how much pressure and stress teachers are under and it would also remind teachers how stressful and hard it is to be a student.

I would like to see a more relaxed atmosphere in the classrooms. I think when a child such as myself is having fun and learning at the same time, they are more likely to remember what they have been taught.

At my school we have a lot of different classrooms; my favourite is the ICT department because it is welcoming, nicely decorated and tidy.

The worst rooms are in severe need of new carpets and new furniture, and desperately need repainting. It gives a very depressing atmosphere to the learning environment. So if I were in charge, I would definitely give these rooms a much-needed makeover.

I understand that money is always an issue, but I think sometimes adults forget what it is like to be in school as a student. That is why I love being part YouthBank UK and the youth forum in my local area so much.
