Number and age of pupils? There are 585 students aged 11 to 16 on the roll

What does it offer? The college is the lead partner school for a cluster of schools including Castleside Primary, Moorside Primary, The Grove Primary and Delves Lane Community Schools. It offers sports facilities and a purpose-built community centre to the local community. The school supports a community library, community credit union, an over-50s group, a toddler group and adult and community learning courses. Other services on offer include an open-access community-based counselling service, a health clinic, out-of-school-hours activities and a variety of activities with the local Sure Start children's centre. The school also has healthy school status and pupils are growing a wildflower garden.

Who does it work with? The school works with Education in the Community, Connexions, the Primary Care Trust, Sure Start, the police, the youth engagement service, district and county council family support projects and Consett YMCA.

How is it funded? Funding for the extended school co-ordinator's post is provided through Sure Start County Durham. The school also accesses funding through partnership with voluntary and community groups.
