Joint work training for early years staff

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

Charity 4Children has launched a training programme to help early years workers get to grips with joint working.

The Integrated Practice Programme was launched last week after workers in the private and voluntary childcare sector told 4Children they did not feel they were being given enough help to integrate with other services.

Aimed at level three practitioners, the programme combines policy with practicalities.

Anne Longfield, chief executive of 4Children, said: "Too often frontline workers feel remote from policy concerning integration of services.

"This programme offers a practical toolkit that can turn policy into practice for key workers, as well as for children and parents."

The programme will use case studies, research and expert advice to demonstrate methods of using joined-up working.

Longfield said: "Linking together services and working together across disciplines to support children is the key to improving outcomes."
