Projects funded by the £300m programme must be completed by 31 March 2025, the announcement adds.
It says that applications for funding through the YIF will close on 1 June and bids will only be accepted from organisations “seeking to deliver less complex, smaller projects that can be fully completed by 31 March 2025”.

Hundreds of youth groups receive first YIF grants
All projects must be completed and all money handed out as part of the grant must be spent by the end of March 2025, the statement adds.
This includes:
-
Having secured appropriate planning permissions
-
Having secured suitable ownership/leases
-
Providing clear plans which outline the build/refurbishment, including build times and build end dates.
“Realistically this means that any major new build project looking to Youth Investment Fund for support will be unlikely to receive funding unless submitted before the application window closes at midnight on 1 June 2023,” according to the YIF’s website.
The YIF was launched in August last year to fund youth services and improve youth work facilities offering out-of-school support for children aged 11 to 18, or 25 for those with disabilities.
It is delivered by the Social Investment Business, in partnership with the National Youth Agency, Key Fund and Resonance.
“The YIF has been heavily oversubscribed, and we have funded some fantastic projects which will support thousands of young people to have improved mental and physical wellbeing, and skills for life and work,” according to the programme’s website.
The YIF has also opened a small Refurbishment Grant Programme for applications under £150,000 which do not require planning permission.
All applications to the Refurbishment Grant Programme must be completed during one of two windows from 24 April to 12 May 2023 or 29 May to 9 June 2023.
