Young activists seek children's views on unfair media coverage

Young activists at the Children's Rights Alliance for England (CRAE) want to contact under-17s who have been named and shamed by the media to help them put together a report on the subject.
The young people are part of the Report Right campaign, which aims to encourage the government to put reporting restrictions in place to stop children and young people being "named and shamed" in the papers. The campaigners also want to develop guidelines for journalists to encourage fair reporting about children and young people.
CRAE is looking for children and young people who have been featured in national newspapers, the local press or as part of a local authority publicity campaign in relation to an antisocial behaviour order. Individuals can be 18 or over if the "naming and shaming" took place when they were a child.
CRAE head of policy and public affairs Sam Dimmock said: "The views collected in the interviews will be used anonymously as part of the campaign report, which will be launched later this year. Children and young people participating in the interviews will also be able to join the Report Right campaign if they wish."
