The Ministry of Defence (MoD) should be doing more to promote the health of families of servicemen according to a report by the Defence Committee.
In its report Medical Care for the Armed Forces published yesterday, the committee said it should do more for families during the transition from overseas postings to UK postings.
It also said the Scottish Government needed to do more and there was an acute lack of support for families transferring into Scotland from abroad.
One problem area was obtaining dental treatment as families frequently move and there were concerns about registering with GPs and dentists.
The report said: “There should be better co-operation between the MoD and health departments across the UK.”
