The cost of getting the necessary background checks to work with children and young people has been frozen.
The Criminal Records Bureau has said it will keep its fees static during 2008/09.
This means the cost of a standard check is £31, an enhanced check is £36, and checks for volunteers are free.
Last year the CRB considered altering its definition of volunteer, which could have led to an increase in payments, but it dropped the plans after opposition.
