Care-experienced young people have shared videos of their persepectives on the UK-wide lockdown from their homes and university halls through charity Leicestershire Cares.

The vlogs come as part of a bid by the organisation to engage the young people they work with in online activities and highlight the challenges faced by care-experienced people during the pandemic.

Jacob Brown, voices development officer at Leicestershire Cares, said one of the biggest challenges faced by care leavers during isolation is loneliness.

“A lot of these young people have left care or dropped away from the social work system for one reason or another and are left without a family unit and a lack of support, this means in these times they have less people to turn to,” said Brown.
