Evaluation found that 80 per cent of children improved over the course of their stay
ACTION
Charity Childhood First runs a total of five residential homes across two sites in Norfolk and Kent. Consistent across all the settings and services is the use of the Integrated Systemic Therapy (iST) approach which is rooted in the psychoanalytic and family systemic movement and built upon the traditional idea of therapeutic communities for children.
All members of staff are enrolled in an immersive clinical training, accredited by Middlesex University and UKCP, enabling them to constantly seek to understand and interpret the children’s behaviour and provide therapy. There are also specific group and one-to-one therapy sessions.
