Childcare & Early Years: NDNA backs oral care campaign

Tuesday, September 11, 2007

The National Day Nurseries Association is backing a campaign to get nursery-age children taking care of their teeth.

Stop the Rot is a joint initiative between the association, dentist Graham Wilding and toothbrush manufacturer Oral-B.

Free packs containing ideas and activities to help children learn about looking after their teeth will be sent to nurseries who sign up. Wilding launched Stop the Rot in 2006 in response to the amount of tooth decay in under-fives.

Purnima Tanuku, chief executive of the National Day Nurseries Association, said: "Nurseries help children stay healthy through menus and being a tooth-friendly setting takes this to a new level."
