Study to examine service integration
Tuesday, September 4, 2007
A group of 14 local authorities has teamed up with research agencies to look into the impact of integrated children's services on outcomes for children and young people.
The study will examine how the integration affects looked-after children, children with autistic spectrum disorders and young people who are not attending school. Initial work has confirmed wide variation in services. The final report is due next spring.
It is funded by the councils, the Local Government Association, the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) and regional development agencies. The National Foundation for Educational Research, the IDeA and Research in Practice are carrying out the work.
