Hundreds of youth groups receive first YIF grants

Initial funding of £12m has been “fast-tracked” to more than 400 local youth services as part of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s £560m National Youth Guarantee.  

The funding, handed out in areas including Carlisle, Norfolk and Coventry, ranges in amounts from £5,000 to £318,000 and is intended to cover “small-scale capital improvements” such as new laptops to youth groups, small redevelopments of buildings and facilities, and improving transport for services.

The £380m YIF was first announced as part of the Conservative Party’s 2019 election manifesto and was originally pledged to total £500m.
