NYA Update: Think Big helpers make big difference

1 min read
O2 helpers have spent more than 500 hours supporting youth and community projects from around the country through O2 Think Big's new employee volunteering programme.

Since its launch in February, the Think Big Helpers Challenges have come together to help a number of projects, including redecorating a community centre in Berkshire, transforming the outside area of a youth centre in Windsor and even supporting young people to put on their own gig in the form of the Amp Awards in Leeds.

More than 130 O2 employees are primed and ready to embark on their volunteering projects in the coming months; these include rebuilding a website at a youth centre, planning a community orchard and painting a safe house.

Think Big aims to get 3,000 O2 people out in their local community supporting young people by the end of 2011.

O2 helpers also provides support to young people who are running their own Think Big projects as part of the programme. They do this through an innovative online support centre where young people can post questions on any topic, from budgeting to gaining publicity.

If you have a volunteering opportunity or have a challenge for a team of O2 helpers, register by emailing: helpers@o2thinkbig.co.uk.
