NYA Update: Free consultancy programme to help authorities find their route to success

1 min read
The National Youth Agency, as part of its ongoing work with the Local Government Association, supported by top-sliced funding for local authorities, is offering a free tailored support programme to work with a limited number of councils on specific issues.

Tailored support is being provided for up to 18 local authorities through the new Routes to Success programme, which was launched by the National Youth Agency in April to support local authority young people's services through the journey of change.

On offer through tailored support, is consultancy advice, training and peer support, designed to meet individual circumstances centred on four topics: supporting the redesign of young people's services, enabling effective commissioning, improving quality and cost effectiveness and workforce development — redesign or reconfiguration.

Fiona Blacke, National Youth Agency chief executive, comments: "Our Routes to Success programme has been designed to support authorities in making tough decisions about the service they provide to young people.

"Through providing tailored support, we aim to directly support local authorities in redeveloping their young people's services, while providing evidence to other authorities facing similar challenges, so they can learn from others' experiences."
