NCB has published new guidelines to help practitioners working in housing and other settings to better support young people experiencing complex trauma.
They have been developed in recognition of the particular difficulties that practitioners can face in providing appropriate support to young people with psychological problems that are linked to prolonged exposure to traumatic experiences.
Care leavers, refugees, and asylum seekers are over-represented among young people in supported housing, many of whom experience complex trauma. These guidelines aim to help practitioners gain an understanding of practical steps they can take to manage and support young people with these problems.
