NCB Now: St Christopher's opens new children's home

St Christopher's Fellowship, a charity that has been providing care and support to disadvantaged children since 1870, is launching its new flagship home, Hillmarton, in Islington at the beginning of April. It will be operated on a spot purchase basis, adding to the choice of authorities looking to place in London.

St Christopher's aim is to build brighter futures for young people and it provides help, assistance and advice to thousands of young people each year. The range of services offered includes fostering, shortand long-term residential care for looked-after children, assessment centres and assistance to those leaving care. It also runs supported housing projects, educational and consultancy services.

The charity operates across England and in the Isle of Man. Traditionally, services have been provided through productive partnerships with local and national governments and, while this work will continue, the charity has now also chosen to expand into the spot purchase market.
